Having spent the majority of my life abroad, including the golden years of childhood and teenage, there weren’t a lot of opportunities to experience the spirit of Independence in the true Pakistani flavour. Though, how it was being celebrated back in the embassy and at the school included much more patriotism than what we usually witness here right at the clock striking 00:00.
This year, independence was more than just independence. Pakistan celebrated the fresh air of freedom for 70th consecutive year and we are no less thankful to Allah for having given us a land of our own to cherish and protect! Dolmen Mall Tariq Road, part of the Dolmen Group, the leaders who brought some of the amazing malls to Karachi organized 70th Independence Celebration on the eve of 13th August that took the celebrations past midnight and the public just went crazy with indoor fireworks, confetti and a special concert by the famous ‘Tu Phir Aoo’ fame, Mustafa Zahid.
The shared montage pretty much sums up the entire experience with Dolmen Mall Tariq Road hosting a cheerful crowd that flooded the floors and cheered at the top of their lungs, till the last minute. It was a pleasure to have been invited by DMTR to cover the event and to get a chance to meet the wonderful soul that he is, Mustafa. Got a cute RT from him over our short fan moment!
